2011 CEWD Summit
Get Into Energy Career Pathways - Opening Doors to New Opportunities

November 7-9, 2011
Westin Alexandria
Alexandria, VA

The theme for the 2011 CEWD Summit was “Get Into Energy Career Pathways – Opening Doors to New Opportunities.” To increase American employer’s access to appropriately trained, high quality employees, many are turning to Career Pathways models that combine academic and career courses beginning in high school and culminating in a degree or industry recognized credential. Job readiness skills, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills, critical thinking abilities and technical skills are all critical in building a skilled energy workforce. By tailoring outreach and support to specific demographics, defining clear education pathways and employer involvement throughout the process, the Get Into Energy Career Pathways model will create opportunities for a diverse, skilled workforce. Discover how these pathways offer a wide range of benefits to educators, students and potential applicants, employers, and all of society.
