DOL Grants

During a visit to Memphis today, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis announced five grant competitions, totaling $500 million, to fund projects that prepare workers for green jobs in the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.

Competency Model

CEWD and the Education & Training Division of the Department of Labor have developed an energy industry competency model. These knowledge and skill sets progress from general academic and business skills to specific job categories including Lineworker, Technician, Plant Operator, and Pipefitter/Pipelayer.

Energy Curriculum Inventory

Help us expand our resources by submitting a program. We have compiled an inventory of training programs available across the country for four critical job categories. The inventory currently contains information on high school, skill center and community college programs for lineworkers, power plant operators, maintenance/repair workers, and pipefitters/pipelayers.
